Cheapest Hotels in Batam: Top Budget Stays by Area (2026)

Batam hotel rates are low, and the lowest we found start at about US$24 a night. This guide ranks the cheapest hotels we could verify, then points you to the best area for your plans.

How we picked these hotels

• Budget here means a hotel that our data lists as a budget or 2 to 3-star stay, or that had a low "from" rate (about US$40 or less per night) when we checked.
• Distance is a straight line from the ferry terminal to the hotel, using map coordinates. The road route is longer, so treat it as a guide.
• Star class, room count, address and phone come from our hotel records, each backed by a source page. Where something could not be verified, we say so instead of guessing.
• Rates are the lowest per-night rate shown on Booking.com for two adults on 6 October 2026. Hotel rates change daily, so always check the live price.

Below hotel level, Booking.com listed the lowest Batam rates in the guesthouse and homestay tier when we checked on 6 October 2026: Capital O Backpacker Guesthouse from US$7.12, RedDoorz Plus Batu Aji from US$12.06, Botania Homestay from US$13.48 and Como Homestay from US$16.81. These are not on BatamGems yet, so read reviews and check the exact location before you book.

Which area should you pick?

• Closest to a ferry terminal: Harbour Bay, with hotels 0.3 to 1.2 km from the terminal.
• Most choice: Nagoya, where we list the most hotels, with hotels about 1.2 to 2.1 km from Harbour Bay terminal.
• Near the malls and offices: Batam Centre, with hotels from 0.5 km to 3 km from the terminal.
• By terminal: budget hotels near each ferry terminal, including where there are none.
• Lowest rate, far from the ferry: OS Style Hotel Batu Aji (from US$30.80) is about 11 km from Sekupang terminal, so factor in the ride.
