Before you leave

What you need to enter Indonesia

All Indonesia declaration: everyone

Required at Batam's international ports since 1 September 2025, for Indonesians and foreigners. It is free. Fill it in up to three days before you arrive, or when you land. Batam Immigration

Fill in All Indonesia

Singapore and Malaysia citizens: visa-free

Both are on Indonesia's visa-free list, in effect since 12 August 2025. You can stay up to 30 days, and this cannot be extended. Indonesian Immigration

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months, and you need a return or onward ticket. Kendari Immigration

Other nationalities: check your visa

Visa on Arrival costs Rp 500,000 for up to 30 days. You can extend it once for 30 more days at an immigration office, at least 7 days before it expires. The same fee applies. Yogyakarta Immigration

What you carry in

Personal goods up to FOB US$500 per person are free of import duty. Above that, duty and taxes apply. Indonesian Customs

The way back

Going back to Singapore or Malaysia

SG Arrival Card

All travellers must submit it before arriving in Singapore, with the health declaration. It is free, and you can submit it within 3 days before arrival, counting the day you arrive. ICA does not endorse third parties that charge a fee. ICA

Exempt: travellers transiting without clearing immigration, and residents coming through Woodlands or Tuas.

Bringing food back to Singapore

Malaysia Digital Arrival Card

Foreign citizens must complete it within three days before arriving in Malaysia. Singapore citizens are exempt. Malaysia's Foreign Ministry
